TCHT House Note #1: Update Lighting

Updating your lighting can be a cheap way to modernize the inside of your home, all while lighting up the room. The brighter the space, the bigger and more welcoming the room appears.

TCHT House Note #2: Put Away Everyday Items

Make sure everything has a place. Put toys, clothes, and extra knick knacks somewhere out of sight and either throw away or donate belongings you do not want or have not used in a while. Although, potential home buyers want to see the house being lived in, they also need to be able to imagine themselves living there. (Plus going through your belongings in advance will save you time after your home is sold and you are moving out).

TCHT House Note #3: Freshen Up The Outside Of Your Home

Ever heard of love at first sight? Sure you have, but have you ever applied it to home buying? Many people do not realize that potential home buyers first opinion can make or break a sale, so cut the grass, pull the weeds, and plant some colorful flowers to give your house curb appeal.

TCHT House Note #4: Clean Until You Can’t Clean Anymore!

Nobody wants to enter a dirty house so dust, sweep, mop, and get your carpet cleaned to make your home squeaky clean. Here are a few quick tricks;

1) Use a cleaner that has a scent. It will help eliminate any smells that you have

become accustomed to.

2) Wash your windows. Use a newspaper as your rag to get that streak free

shine.

3) Use a magic eraser to remove scuffs or marks on your walls...they will

disappear before your eyes.

TCHT House Note #5: Neutrals Go With Everything

Add a fresh coat of paint to rooms that need a little bit of a touch up. History shows that potential home buyers prefer to see neutral colors up on the wall rather than a dramatic red. Eliminate the distraction and stick to neutrals, after all when is the last time you have heard anyone say they do not like the color white?
